India-Bhutan Partnership: Hydropower and Development Aid
India and Bhutan are bound by the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation of 1949, revised in 2007, and by a hydropower partnership that has built about 90 percent of Bhutan's generating capacity, with India also its top trading partner.
