Saudi-Türkiye-Pakistan Pact & India
On 7 August 2026 Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan signed a mutual-defence pact in Mecca, agreeing that an armed attack on any one of them counts as an attack on all three. The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement ties together Saudi money, Turkish arms manufacturing and Pakistan's battle-tested army, and it is the first time that combination has been written into a single treaty. The pact does not name India, Riyadh calls it neither a military axis nor a sectarian bloc, and analysts read it as deterrence against Iran and Israel. But two of its legs run into Indian security: Saudi Arabia's promise to defend Pakistan, and Türkiye, which armed and backed Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. On 13 August 2026 Türkiye's defence ministry said the three will now build political and military mechanisms under the pact. No Indian official response is on record.
