Circular Economy Forum at Gandhinagar
India hosted the World Circular Economy Forum for the first time anywhere in South Asia, at Gandhinagar in Gujarat from 15 to 18 September 2026, on the theme 'Circular Economy: Transition for People and Prosperity'. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel opened it on 15 September before more than 3,600 participants from 62 countries, with an expo of 135 exhibitors alongside. The forum is run jointly by India's Central Pollution Control Board and Finland's innovation fund Sitra, with the Environment Ministry, the Finnish government, the Gujarat government and the state pollution control board.
