The Quad in 2026
The Quad is the Indo-Pacific grouping of India, Australia, Japan and the United States, raised to leader level in 2021 to work for a free, open and rules-based region. Its 2026 agenda has moved into delivery: a foreign ministers' meeting in New Delhi in May, a Sherpas' round and a logistics tabletop exercise in September, and, on 25 September, an Indian Coast Guard ship sailing for Perth under the Quad-at-Sea Ship Observer Mission.

Added the Quad-at-Sea Ship Observer Mission: on 25 September 2026 the Indian Coast Guard ship Shaunak sailed from Chennai for Perth with six sea riders - two officers each from India and Japan, one each from Australia and the US - in line with the foreign ministers' joint statement of 26 May 2026. The card is also trimmed to its exam core, with attendee names dropped.
