UPSC — India's Central Recruiting Commission
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the independent constitutional body that recruits officers for the Union's services through examinations and interviews, and advises the government on promotions and disciplinary cases. It turns 100 on 1 October 2026, counted from the first Public Service Commission of 1926, and the Prime Minister is scheduled to mark the day at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
