NCAHP — Regulating Allied and Healthcare Professions
The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) is the statutory regulator, under the Health Ministry, for the education and practice of allied and healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, optometrists and imaging technologists. It is in the news for 2026 regulations, announced on 7 October, that set up Autonomous Boards under State Councils and a Central Assessment Committee for States without a working council.
