India-Africa Forum Summit IV

India's biggest planned diplomatic set-piece with Africa for 2026 did not take place. The Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV), meant to gather African leaders in New Delhi from 28-31 May 2026 under the theme "IA SPIRIT", was postponed on 21 May after an emerging public-health situation on the continent, with fresh dates left open. It would have been the first such summit since 2015 and India's marquee bid to reset a partnership it has let drift while China deepened its own African footprint. The postponement is itself the story: the agenda, the institutional history and the strategic stakes remain firmly on the table.
