Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF) — Onion and Pulses Buffer
The Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF) is the Centre's price-buffer scheme, run by the Department of Consumer Affairs since 2016, which stocks onion and major pulses in times of plenty and sells them in lean months to keep shop prices steady. On 16 October 2026 the Department said the first Kanda Express onion train to Agartala, with about 440 tonnes, was due in Tripura by 18 October, adding to more than 2,800 tonnes already sent to the North-East.
