NGT - India's Green Tribunal
The National Green Tribunal is India's specialised environmental court, created by its own Act in 2010 to settle environment disputes quickly and to award compensation for environmental harm. It is in the news for its two-day international conference in New Delhi, opened by the Prime Minister on 19 September 2026 and closed by President Droupadi Murmu on 20 September.
