NGT - India's Green Tribunal
The National Green Tribunal is India's specialised environmental court, created by its own Act in 2010 to settle environment disputes quickly and to award compensation for environmental harm. It is in the news because the Prime Minister opened its two-day international conference in New Delhi on 19 September 2026 and released the NGT mobile application.

- Delhi-NCR Air Quality & GRAPAdds the Lucknow review of 18 September 2026: Bhupender Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath went through the state's Delhi-NCR plan before winter - end-to-end road paving with geo-tagged sweeping machines, electric buses and charging points in the NCR municipal corporations, OCEMS and control devices in industry, construction-waste collection centres, and crop-residue machinery - with the minister pressing whole-of-government and whole-of-society action. Note the contrast with the market this card tracks - those credits carry Verra's international VM0042 label, not an Indian compliance certificate.
