Geothermal Energy in India
Geothermal energy is heat stored inside the Earth, reached through deep wells and used to make power or to warm and cool buildings. India notified a national policy for it in September 2025 and commissioned its first two geothermal wells at Puga Valley in Ladakh in July 2026.
