India–Japan Defence Cooperation
India and Japan run their defence relationship under the umbrella of the Special Strategic and Global Partnership, with an annual Defence Policy Dialogue at secretary level as its working engine. The 8th edition met in Tokyo on 13 July 2026, led by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Japanese Vice-Minister of Defence Kano Koji, and set the stage for ministerial visits — including a 2+2 — later in the year.
