Tribunal Reform and the National Tribunals Commission
The Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026 resets how the chairpersons and members of 16 tribunals are chosen, how long they serve and who oversees them, around a judiciary-led National Tribunals Commission. Parliament passed it in August 2026 after the Supreme Court struck down parts of the 2021 tribunals law and directed such a commission.
