Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban)
Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) is the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry's cleanliness mission for India's towns and cities, now in a second phase, SBM-U 2.0, that aims at garbage-free cities rather than toilets alone. On 29 September 2026 the ministry picked 50 model cities under PRAGATI-50 to show a higher cleanliness benchmark through KPI-based targets and technology-driven monitoring.
